Melee vs Ranged attacker -- AoO?

Painfully

First Post
There's these two guys:
Axe guy -- Let's call him AG for short
Bow guy -- call him BG

AG stands directly in front of BG
BG attacks AG with bow

Does AG get an attack of opportunity? PHB says yes.

But, is there a feat that prevents that AoO? (I was thinking of Point Blank Range for some odd reason, but it isn't explicit).

If there is no such feat, then is there any other reason that AG would NOT get an AoO on BG?

And many thanks for putting up with my half-conscious ramblings. I really should remind myself what sleep is like more often. :)

Yes, when BG fires a his bow and is in someone's threatened range he will provoke an AoO.

The only feat I've seen that negates this is an Epic Feat. However, there is a class ability of the Order of the Bow intiate (in S&F) that does the same thing.

Yes, AG can make an AoO. BG could make a 5-ft step ;)

There is no feat to negate this (as far as I know), but there are some prestige classes with the special ability to negate AoO from firing from within threatened area's.

The PH is correct.

Yes. Combat Archery. It's an epic feat (ELH, page 52). Point Blank Shot does not prevent an AoO when firing next to an enemy.

If there is no such feat, then is there any other reason that AG would NOT get an AoO on BG?
As Brekki suggested, just have BG take a 5 foot step and pepper AG with a full attack. But beware, AG might have readied for that trick.
