Janus begins casting again, murmuring in that strange language. This time the rythum is different and Janus seems to be rocking gently back and forth. Soon, soothing music full of gentle pianos and double bass notes fill the air, whilst small “Z” shaped snow flakes circle the heads of the creatures on the upper floor.

I said it could be targetted from anywhere in the central room, so you have to step out into the room to target it. So I'm going to add a move to G2. Also, I assume your attack rolls go left-to-right.

Did you want to use Orb of Imposition on that?

I'm also going to change my ruling on slow/immobilize - it's getting too confusing. For the rest of this fight, immobilize overrides slow, so Shorrin only needs one save to cancel both.

The frostling ducks behind the railing, and Janus's magic passes over his head. It screams, "They've killed our warriors! It won't be long before they close the fireplace gates! Hold them off - I will free the Guardian of the Keystone to crush these intruders. THE INVASION MUST NOT FAIL!" It unleashes another blizzard on the floor below and runs to a metal platform in the corner. It stands on the platform and stares upwards, concentrating. The platform begins vibrating.

The ice blast clears to reveal Shorrin bleeding further and Larinza lying unconscious on the ground, snow covering her body. Meanwhile the Icicle Hurler, obeying its master's last command, throws its ice spear at Shorrin, but misses. It begins to round the corner of the balcony to gain a vantage point where it can see Janus, but sinks slowly to its knees and falls unconscious. The frostling, staring intently at the ceiling, does not seem to notice.

The fireplaces pulse again, and three more shardlings emerge! From the northeast portal, one rounds the dining table and steps through the northern doorway. When it sees Balth it stops short and fires a quick blast at him, missing. From the southeast portal, one charges at Janus and swipes at him with its claws, but he ducks out of the way. From the southwest portal, one moves to the door and fires another blast at Janus, also missing.

Janus moves to G2 and casts Sleep, hitting the Icicle Hurler but missing the Frostling.

The Frostling's Icy Burst recharges: Icy Burst recharge (1d6=5). It casts it at E4 (Icy Burst vs Shorrin, then Larinza (targets Fort) (1d20+7=22, 1d20+7=22, 1d10+4=8)) hitting both Shorrin and Larinza for 8 cold damage and slowing them (save ends). On the first failed save they'll be immobilized (save ends). (This only affects Larinza since Shorrin's already immobilized.) Oops, that takes Larinza to 0. Then it moves to H2.

The Icicle Hurler throws an icicle at Shorrin: Flying Icicle vs Shorrin (1d20+9=17, 1d6+2+1d6=4). Miss. It moves to C4 and makes its saving throw: Save vs Sleep (1d20=1) Fail. It falls unconscious.

The fireplaces at J10, J1 and A4 recharge and disgorge more Shardlings.

Shardling 6 moves to G6 and fires an Ice Bolt at Balth:
Ice Bolt at Balth (1d20+4=5) Miss.
Shardling 7 charges to H2 and attacks Janus: Ice Shard at Janus (w/+1 for Charge) (1d20+5+1=13) Miss.
Shardling 8 moves to C2 and fires an Ice Bolt at Janus: Ice Bolt at Janus (1d20+4=6) Another miss.

The doors at C6 and G6 are open, all others are closed.

Zombie Larinza

With the darkness closing in, the cold realization that she is slipping beyond this mortal coil seems to strike deep into her psyche and somehow, someway, her mind refuses to die her, lying on this icy tower, with enemies still threatening her and her allies. With an almost primal roar of denial, Larinza opens her eyes and looks around.

Shorrin pulls his throwing hammer and hurls it in the direction of one of the ice creatures. He doesn't care if it lands or not, it's merely to buy him time. A distinctly draconic noise escapes his lips as he concentrates on moving his unnaturally heavy legs.

Balth runs out from the room he's in and runs up the stairs, seeing the downed enemy he rushes next to him and fires off two quick arrows at the enemy.

Murphy curses in frustration at the door trapping him inside this slaughterhouse. Turning around he sees more of those creatures milling about, somehow they keep appearing from the fireplaces. Murphy hefts his rod to blast them, but then a cruel smile crosses his lips and he instead calls upon the force of the fey and the shardling explodes into clinking pieces of ice, as Murphy disappears into a fine mist and reappears in the middle of the room. The warlock sees an opening and hurries forward, jogging past Shorrin and Larinza, running up the stairs, and past Balth and the unconscious enemy. The warlock calls out to the others as he runs past, "Come, we can't let them do whatever evil thing they're trying to free".

What browser are you using? I used to have a lot if issues with IE, but now using Firefox it's much better. I tried Chrome as well, but prefer FF over it.

P.S. I'm sure you're ok to blast that one frostling right behind you right Janus?
