[Meta] News from Chairman Kaga's wife

You know, I don't know if this is gonna sound like a pyramid scheme or something lame like that, but I just wanted to let any of the Powers That Be know that if someone put up a "Buy Chairman Kaga's Wife some Dice" fund or something through Paypal or one of those other deals, I'd chip in.

The Chairman was a good guy. I liked him, even though I was just a lurker at the time when he died. And one of the things that has really impressed me about ENWorld has been the way folks stick together and support each other. I've never seen a "Sad Post" thread that didn't generate a lot of sympathy, helpful advice, or prayers. I've been pretty blessed to not need to put up one of those threads, but I'm still touched every time I see the responses on one of them.

I know that nothing we do will make it all wonderful and perfect again, but if somebody knows something that can be done, just start a thread and let us know, okay?

I must admit this has made me shed a tear for our lost chairman. I'm glad his widow and adorable baby girl are doing well.

I think I need to drink to Bjorn tonight.

What does that whole "...and one for Bjorn" thing mean anyway? I keep hearing it and I am really quite curious.

pardon the hijack :)

Naturally since you want an explanation I'm blanking on the name of the member who first told us about Bjorn. But you know her. Her brother was missing, and he was finally found dead in his car--murdered, I think. Anyway, she and her brother used to role play together in college, and get very drunk while doing it. They invented a pseudo-viking god of drunkenness named Bjorn. They would take a swig of beer and then spill some on the floor "For Bjorn". When he died, she told us the story, and asked us to drink to Bjorn in honor of her brother and all role players who are now lost to us.

It was a charming, yet heartbreaking story.

Balsamic Dragon. She's a great player, a good friend, and good people; I've been lucky enough to spend some time with her here in Boston.

Here here! Glad to know that Momma chairman and baby chairman are ok. I remember the feeling of loss when I read the thread that he had passed on, and even more so when we toasted him at our next session.

All the well wishes and prayers I have left go out to you.
