I just found this French band- they're good & heavy, and some of their stuff is quite complex. Faster than Godflesh, heavier than Helmet, with elements cribbed from the entire gamut of the heavier side of rock.

I dig it!

However, to let you make up your mind yourselves, the band has graciously allowed people to listen to the whole album online.

Go here, select "medias", then select "audios." Select the top album, "From Mars to Venus" and just listen. The video "To Sirius"- in rotation on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball- is from this album.

I kind of like it, not the style I like the most though. Good find though, very nice of them to let people listen free.

Started listening to it now, but even if I don't like it, I like these threads because they've introduced me to lots of new music I would never have heard on my own.

How did I miss this thread??? I actually just saw these guys tonight at the Lamb of God concert, and wow were they good! I foudn them to be a technical death metal band with some black metal overtones. Very heavy sounding though; their musical style just pounds you.

As a tangent, just thought I'd point out that even though Godflesh is no more, J. Broaderick has a new band, Jesu- if you liked his previous work, you'll probably dig it! Pretty good!

Good catch D - BTW Gojira is the original pronunciation of Godzilla in case anyone wanted to know....Yeah, a rampaging lizard in downtown Tokyo, that pretty much describes this.

Thanks for the link. I gave it a quick listen, I like it when bands allow audio samples of their music on their sites. Unfortunately these guys are not my style of metal.
