Midnight: A Glimmer of Hope

Once the bodies are stacked and everybody is ready to leave, he lights the mound on fire. He ensures that the pile is lit in several different places as to keep the flame from prematurely dying. Once he is satisfied that the bodies are burning well enough, he picks up his things as well as other odds and ends from the fallen enemy and begins to walk off with the group.

Qaridas asks, [erenlander pidgin]"Where Paol?"[/erenlander pidgin] When provided a direction, he heads off at an easy lope, scouting ahead of the party.

Tak, happy to let the others decide the best course of action, simply takes his share of the rations and prepares his things for the journey.

He grips the medallion in his hand, and thinks of what he'll finally tell his sister when at last they meet again...

As you walk away from the bird formation, the pile of dead bodies ablaze, you wonder what your future holds. As you move away from the formation the smoke from the fire rises into the air and you are glad you decided to move on. You travel all day and as the day ends you find a good place for camp. After an uneventful night it is time to move on. But as you break camp, Qaridas senses that something is approaching from the west.

Regan wakes, fully rested and ready to go. He begins to gather his things for the journey ahead. Turning to nobody in particular, he absentmindedly speaks. [Erenlander]"Sure hope this town isn't too far away. I could use a good meal and woman for the night."[/Erenlander]

Following Qaridas' lead, Tashki crouches down and looks off to the west. Trying to be a quiet as her clumsy feet will permit.

As Qaridas checks the air he smells something... familiar. Just as he wonders about the scent, a young tiger comes bounding out of the bush and knocks the startled elf down. The others start to draw their weapons, but it is quickly evident that the large cat is of no threat. The beast is licking Qaridas' face affectionately. With some effort Qaridas is able to get out from under the young tiger.

OOG: Check OOC thread for stats. I liked the idea of a tiger so I interpolated a young tiger (4 HD) from a regular tiger (6 HD).

Qaridas looks totally surprised as the young tiger pounces upon him, knocking him to the ground and licking at his face with his broad, raspy tongue. He's soon laughing and tussling with the big cat. After a couple of minutes he stops and catches his breath, saying to all [erenlanderpidgin] "This Pouncer. He friend. Follow me Aruun." [/erenlanderpidgin]

Regan watches as the elf rolls on the ground with the tiger. Shaking his head he sheathes his sword. 'It's a shame the cat's friendly. Would probably have made for a couple of nice meals.' Now that the group has eased a bit, he loks around. [Erenlander]"So, shall we continue to head towards Paol?"[/Erenlander]
