[Milwaukee Gamefest, 1-3 August] OAD&D tournament

To Bump and Remind:)

I'll be at the Milwaukee Gamefest this weekend--giving a couple of seminars (state of PnP gaming and on the LA game), autographing, and running the final round of the OAD&D tournament there Saturday late afternoon.

Alex Gygax will be the primary LA game demo person at the booth. It is good to have sons!

We are having an open house at our hotel suite on Saturday night. Check with me or at the Hekaforge demo booth for details;)

Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary---

What's the relationship between Wolfmoon and the previous two adventures? Do you need to have played A Challenge of Arms and/or Ritual of the Golden Eyes to enjoy Wolfmoon?

What ties are there, if any, between the three modules? They sound loosely related, but is that by setting, characters, plot, etc.?

For those curious, here's a link to the ICD page about these books: http://www.fuzzyheroes.com/1.asp?RI...&OrderID=0&ReturnURL=/&ID=273&ContainerID=273

D&D tourney registration

Will it be possible to register for the tournament on site? I didn't get a chance to preregister and missed the deadline as I am prone to do.

Hey, Gary!

I wish I could go, so we can do that dinner together we've been talking about. You know there's this place in Indianapolis you would have loved called The Restaurant.

Anyhow, how long has this event been going on? And how was your birthday? Did you do anything special?

Ahoy Alan!

Chris Clark actually plotted out the three adventures, and I am his humble assistant in regards the development of them. All three are in the same locale, follow the main plot thread, but each stands alone if so desired by the GM.

In regards Castle Wolfmoon, the introduction is written so as to accommodate play as continuing from one or both of the two preceeding adventures or as a stand alone module.

BTW, Chris is readying things so as to pyblish CW as a hardback work...finally

Cheers,
Gary

Wish I could tell you, but I am not involved in the management of the convention--I'm just a guest. As a guess I'd say the tournament is likely filled, but it's worth a shot if you get there early on Friday. There's a 2E tournament too.

I hope that they run a Milwaukee Gamefest next year, and that the size of the OAD&D tournament will be greater;)

Cheers,
Gary

I'm pretty sure you can register on site. I am not playing (I'm judging some RPGA stuff), so I'm not 100% sure. Sorry.

Howdy Ed:)

With a three-day con time is really tight. I am having one dinner get-together on Friday at one of my favirite restaurants, the Old Town Serbian Gourmet. the Saturday night open house at our suite means I get to wolf down a burger between the end of my DMing suties around 7 PM and the start of the gathering at 8 PM.

This is the first Milwaukee Gamefest, but I hope it will become an annual event and establish itself as a major regional con that is the place to go for OAD&D gaming;)

My birthday anniversary was the 27th. On the day before we had all sic of my children and all six grandchidren too here at our house for a family gathering and massive cook-out. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a splendid time. Way too much food as there were steaks, ribs, chicken, tuna steaks, hamburgers, bratwurst, and franks grilled. Just managed to eat the last of the left-overs for for last night's supper

On the big day proper things were quiet, as I wished them to be. Just the nuclear family was here--Gail and youngest son Alex. After an excellent dinner I opened a bottle of 75-year-old Armagnac (wonderful!!!), had a Cupido cigar and enjoyed the superb flavor of the liquor in the velvet dusk and early night. When I drink alone I prefer to be by myself... (Actually I shared the Armagnac, but Alex was not much impressed, he being quite unfamiliar with fine brandies.)

Cheers,
Gary

According to the site, the tourney still has some slots open, so there's hope for me. Anyone have any idea when the doors open?
