I dunno... the generalist Wizard didn't actually give all that much. Taking a look at the playtest packets that included it, all the Scholarly Wizard tradition gave you was an extra cantrip; an extra prepared spell per day; an extra spell in your spellbook at 1st level plus gaining two spells each time you gained a new spell level (rather than one); and you could cast any spell in your book as a ritual if it has the ritual designation. So basically, you just got slightly more stuff, rather than specific bonuses to your spells that the Schools gave you.
As it stands right now with the Wizard... the stuff you got for the Scholarly Wizard tradition would need to probably be reworked quite a bit because there was nothing there worthy of the higher-level tradition abilities you gain from Schools in the game currently. Truth be told, if you really wanted to make a Generalist Wizard tradition without creating new abilities out of whole cloth... probably your easiest bet would be to just take the most generic option from any of the eight Schools at each level you gained a sub-class feature. Cobble together the least school-specific sub-class features already written in the game to create the ultimate "least school-specific" tradition, and call that the Generalist Wizard.
