Maybe a stupid question,

Does a damaging area effect like fireball make mirror images dissappear.

I think not, but im not sure.

Since we're talkin' about Mirror Image here...

Generally, roll randomly to see whether the selected target is real or a figment.

...did anyone ever figure out what the hell you're supposed to roll!?

it depends on how many images there are.

if there were four images, then d4, if there wer 13 images, then you roll a d13.

Not quite.

4 images, D5.
13 images, D14.

One of the "images" must be the real caster.

And, brooch of shielding only protects the real caster.

As my understanding has it, it has to be a spell that you specificaly target on the Image/Wizard. I think it calls for a to-hit roll, but magic Missle can get around that by claiming it is specificaly targeted 'and always rolls a hit'.

I thought that Fireball and/or other Area-of-Effect spells were mentioned as not causing the Images to vanish, they just end up looking like the original again, ie: Extra Crispy if he failed his save. :p
