Folks may want to keep an eye out on the site tomorrow morning (US Eastern time) for some interesting stuff....
The real world is not really relevant. The problem with that is that the dire wolf (I think the only dire animal in 5e), in the real world were the same size as the modern grey wolf.
They also aren’t even classified as wolves anymore! The problem with that is that the dire wolf (I think the only dire animal in 5e), in the real world were the same size as the modern grey wolf.
So, the giant type is expanding beyond humanoids?! That is interesting and unexpected (and I know we were just talking about it).
This does indeed suggest that giant versions of animals are likely to become giants rather than beasts.
I don't think so, but who knows!
In many cases, I'd agree, but the dire wolf in D&D is based on a real creature. I also like my dinos with feathers. The real world is not really relevant.
I imagine the Guardian Naga will become a Celestial along with the Sphinxes.
