Both in game, and in real life... A nice touch, Mark.
Heh heh heh
I really don't want what I posted to come off as being too harsh toward Ash, so let me add one more perspective. I think it bears noting that all of us have yet to find a "group pacing" yet.
By that I mean that turtle and Ash seem to want and move along quickly with lots of info up front while Jack is clearing up his own character's business without allowing for much interaction immediately and Mario (Lichtenhart) is approaching the game with a "make a small move, wait for any and all reactions, make another small move" approach. This leaves me, at least at the beginning of the game, with the task of covering as many "knowledge bases" right at the outset for four players, while still trying to jump start a storyline that will intrigue all parties involved. It bears pointing out that there is no "one right way" to play the game on message boards.
As a suggestion, whenever you find that your writing is putting your character in contact with another character run by a player, try and pause at that point to allow for reactions. (I will break this rule with NPCs often, but allow me some leeway so that we don't have tons of NPCs that merely eat up time and don't further the story.

) Don't just drop your pen, though. Define your "emotional character". Go inside the character at that point and add some of your character's thoughts on the situation. This doesn't mean you need to make things up to write about that aren't already defined regarding the world around you, either. Simple things like how they feel about their clothes, whether they like pudding or beef, if they combed their hair, maybe they're plagued by a nagging ailment or mild cold, etc. Some of these things are examples that some of you have explored and others I'm just throwing out there.
I'll give you much more but don't want to flood the field with so much that it distracts from a character focus I feel is vital at this early stage. *shrug* We'll find our pacing soon enough and all be better for having laid a firm foundation so please don't let the pacing frustrate you now, whether you'd like it faster or slower...
