Our d20 Modern game is getting off the ground. What do people sugest for minis and/or counters? Note that I prefer cheap minis over nice, expensive ones. Counters would be ideal.

For those who need modern police action for their d20 Modern games, Noble Miniatures produces a full line of SWAT team miniatures, and soon should have a line of "perps" (bad guys). All these are at 28mm. www.nobleminis.com

I've seen some U.K. miniature hobby magazines that have a lot of "modern" theme figures, but they seem to be harder to come by in the States. Hopefully that will change!

Here are some recomendations...
Games Workshop

Expensive as all f%&k but they're nice minis. They have a great fantasy line, and the 40k line (esp the Orks) would be great for Urban Arcana.

The Plastic Guard are perfect generic military-esk thugs with rifles, and are ALMOST reasonable.

Copplestone Casting's Future Wars minis are absoutly perfect for d20 Modern and its Back of Beyond figures are great for figures a more 'pulp' feel.

Em-4-Miniatures has a HUGE line of modern minis. Check out the Thugz and Future Skirmish lines! ;)

Ground Zero Games has a selection that just... i'll. If you want it they'll have something. The figures aren't the best in the world, but they cover all your bases, and if you want anime themed... well, look at the Animetals...

Then you have the Street Violence line. They have a lot of Non-PC fun premade gangs of five. Good for memorable good and bad guys

For your premade terrain needs I have to mention but two names: Ainsty and Armorcast. If you want it on you table top, they'll probelly have it in nice clean resin ready for painting.

Hope this helps
