The problem with that is that perfect balance can be boring.
There are ways to balance things without changing the core material, changing that material however makes it hard to deviate from that perfect balance.
Want better balance? Play Pathfinder.
Want less? Play normal 3.5
There are many options available.

Actually, I'm currently on the design team of an RPG that tries to have great inter-class balance, but which will probably be the furthest thing from boring.

I base that last statement on the fact that we have dwarves who can chug alcohol and then breath fire.
