Yep - except when Flurrying with it. When doing that, it's treated as a normal weapon.

wow, these game creaters think of everything don't they?

well...this at any rate.

Can't you also use a Quarterstaff as a 2handed weapon? Allowing you to get 1.5 Str bonus to damage? Also getting +2 for -1 if you have power attack?

And you get +4 on disarm checks, instead of the -4 for unarmed attacks.

Ahh... well, it seems I was totally wrong then.

Monk weapons do actually have a much greater purpose than I thought.

Although, you bring up that good point that by two-handing a quarterstaff, you get +4 due to weapon size...

Nunchakus get +2 bonus to disarm too, I believe. Although, that might just be for tripping as well.

Either way, the bonuses are always good to have when performing special actions like that, and then following up with the crushing hand.

A nice magic weapon ability for monk weapons for your BBEG monks is Unholy. This adds 2d6 damage against most PCs. Remarkably effective. Your staff or kama now do 3d6 +xx damage.

yea, and it's especially good because they can't use it themselves (or have no advantage from the +2d6 since they will hopefully never use it) so they'd have to sell it, which might be hard or even lower priced since 'town people' (rarely evil) don't have much use for it.
