Monks with Shurikens/ Monk Weapons

Just a little question here that i cannot find the definite answer to.

Since the 3.5 shuriken thread with the monk throwing something like 22 shuriken, i decided to make my own with 32 point buy. Question is with an item like bracers of striking(MOF pg 155) or necklace of natural weapons (Savage species Pg 58), that allow you to add weapons properties such as flaming, holy etc to the unarmed attack, does it get transferred to ammo? Does this work like a bow? Also does ki strike transfer to the weapons. Again these questions are for monk weapons only.

If not is there any way to give weapons properties to shurkiens, without spending tons of money, making it effectively useless?

No, properties of someone's unarmed strike never get transferred to wielded or thrown weapons, in any case, ever. If they did, there really wouldn't be any reason to use your unarmed strike, would there?

Anyway, it's possible to beef up shuriken, but, as you said, it costs lots of money. However, unlike arrows or bolts, shuriken are reusable. Just make all of them +1 Returning (House-Ruling that they count as Ammo, of course) and you're set.

That's a bad house rule. The reason ammo is cheap to enchant is that it isn't reusable - once used, it's kaput. The technical term for allowing someone to enchant reusable weapons at ammunition discount (98%) would be "bah-roken."

Oh, and sweet! I've gotten sigged!

Well for one unarmed strike damage for non monk types would be pathetic, and for monk types it is still far better than using a dagger or a monk weapons in general. And shuriken are considered ammo in 3.5 afaik, and arent reusable.

I really don't think so. After all, a sword is reusable, is it not? A Throwing Axe can be enchanted with the Returning property, and that too is reusable. The house rule I suggested was solely meant for Shuriken, which are such a laughable weapon that there isn't much you can do to make them worth using.

From 3.5 SRD

Although they are thrown weapons, shuriken are treated as ammunition for the purposes of drawing them, crafting masterwork or otherwise special versions of them and what happens to them after they are thrown.

ok, so i am a bit confused her, or i am most likely misunderstanding. So for 5 shurkien +1, its 2000 + masterwork + cost of shuriken. Can you make shuriken returning so that you dont have to keep buying more, or is it only for axes and so forth?

So in other words even tho you can through an insane amount, it doesnt do any damage, especially if you fight things with some sort of DR, in fact any sort of DR :(

50, not 5. Returning only works on thrown weapons, not ammunition. Shuriken are ammunition. You can retrieve any shuriken that are not destroyed (any that hit are destroyed, an 50% of all misses are destroyed).

Shuriken can get expensive to use. It might be wise to have a friendly caster do the enchanting on them for you when possible.

I see in a forgotten realms suplement a glove what make all weapons you wield, throwing and returning and was very cheap but I cannot remember in what book was. Try on MofF, PGtoF, UEast, RofF.
I hope that helps :)

That would have been the "Glove of Taarnahm the Vigilante", PGtF, prcied at 10000gp, found on page 123.
Pretty fun item - but it is chainmail, which might limit its usefulness to some classes.
