You know I noticed that the obscure Tirapheg isn't the ToH's list of monsters, does that mean that strange three-headed, three-armed and three-legged humanoid creature from the original Fiend Folio will actually be appearing in the Monster Manual 2? Or was it not in both books because it was too weird?

hahahaha! i converted that thing myself, and i wasn't sad not to see it in the ToH contents. (i wouldn't be sad if it was there, either). just did that one for the hell of it.
my vote will go to - not in either book because it's just too weird.

All I can really say is just because it isn't in the ToH doesn't mean it is in the MM2. Like I said above, we worked very closely with WotC to ensure no overlap (meaning stuff we did won't be in the MM2).

But- all I can do is provide you a list of what is in the ToH (and subsequently not in the MM2). Can't say what is and is not in MM2.

IIRC, the little buggers moved fast and attacked in a blur of motion...The extra partial action accounts for both, while a simple increase in speed does not.

No one who is under an NDA re: MM2 (like me, for instance) will tell you the contents of the MM2. That is a violation of the NDA. So you wont get answers to what specific monsters are in it.

in other words, anyone who knows the contents (i.e., either someone under a non-disclosure agreement, or someone who works/worked for wizards of the coast) will be in a lot of trouble if they post any or all of it.
and if someone else finds out, and posts them... well, that might just be a bad thing too. (but it ain't gonna be me - even if i do find out the contents somehow, i'm keepin em to myself! i don't want that much trouble coming down on me.)

I have to say, I can't wait for this book! I always love bringing out the beasties! Even if I only use a few of them, I love reading through them and dreaming of all the possibilities. Some of the monsters are just dang cool! My prediction is that the grell will make an appearance since it was converted for a certain wotc adventure and it's a classic (in my mind at least). Who can say though...

Which is what pretty much what I expected, especially given the debaucle that occured here with the ELH being handed out.

Btw, I still think I like ToH better, even though I have reasonable certainty that MM2, will do some good conversions on some d20 monsters I know about. Or at least have a theory about!

I'd also like to point out the fact that what's in MM2 WON'T be in ToH, though I imagine some of the critters in ToH won't be in MM2. Especially my favorites, Anthraxus, Loth Lord extrodinarie!
