Monsters new to 3E?

But I'm pretty sure the "stwinger" is not in the 1E Fiend Folio....

The dorky beard pulling fairy? Yup. The FF is home to a horde of stupid crap (flail snail, flumph, CIFAL etc). When the gambado is middle of the road, you know you've crammed 3 gallons of lame into a 2 gallon jug.

Uh. Nope. I gave you the benifit of the doubt, but now I've got the book in front of me. It ain't in there. Sorry. :)

The others you mention certainly are, however... :uhoh:

There is a booka! Pooka were in a Dragon magazine, somewhere...

Edit: if ehren37 thinks the monsters in FF were bad, he should see the ones that didn't make the cut, such as the withra, dahdi, llort, bonacon, etc.

Hey, I loved the dahdi! It was the perfect monster for p***ing off obnoxious players, especially powergamers.

For those not familiar with the golden age of White Dwarf (before Game's Workshop turned it into advertising for Warhammer), the dahdi was a sort of anti-mummy. It could only be hit by normal weapons (magic doing no damage), it reflected fire and holy water (but was damaged by normal water), and when slain, its bandages could be used to cure disease. Stupid, but well designed.

Equicephs are another new one for 3.xEd.

As far as I can tell, they appeared in undead form in Chainmail (the recently discontinued one, not the original), then made it into DDM and I think MM3...still undead though.

[musing]I wonder if we'll ever get to see living Equicephs in the game...[/musing]

Sadly, my collection of White Dwarf does not go back to issue 10, where the dahdi comes from. You wouldn't happen to have that one, would you? If so, is it possible to get the entire entry on the dahdi? I am really tempted to use this.
