Hering they had set their infrared devices on, Sheng chuckles to himself. He creates a huge orb of fire and hurls it at them. The fire has a strong infrared component of the spectrum, hopfully enought to blind them for the little while Sheng needs to sneak past them and keep searching for the scroll.

I hate fumbling around in the dark. Providence thinks as she enters through the window.
Good thing my shields give me protection from this broken glass and their magical glow allows me to see a few feet.
Providence slowly and cautiously searches through the house, making sure that none of the floors below her are damaged or dry rotted before stepping completely on them. She takes her time, looking through cabinets and drawers for any sort of light source like a candle or a flashlight; or anything else of interest. If the first floor does not yield anything interesting, she'll move up to the second floor.
Her high Intuition should make her observant of things that most people would miss.

Solaire
Solaire immediately begins making plans to travel to Richmond. He doesn't have much in the way of possessions, so he will have to travel on foot and keep to areas that have plenty of cover. He packs up a knapsack with all of his earthly possessions and a bedroll, then sets out for his overland journey. He avoids cities and highways and sticks to an old map of Virginia he scrounged up in a deserted little gas station he came across when he first arrived a few weeks ago. Even though the journey is about 125 miles as the crow flies, much of it is over mountainous terrain and he won't be taking the most direct route, so he estimates it will take at least 10 days (unless Havok or someone else can provide him with a vehicle of some kind).

The lower floor looks and "feels" all but desserted, although it is known that Doctor Strange has not been heard from in years his home is still clean and warm (probably some magical property). As Providence carefully explores the lower level she happens on a pair of double doors slightly ajar. There is a little light coming from the room as well as the sounds of something grumbling in a high pitched tone. A second later there is a ripping sound like pages being torn from a book one by one, followed by more grumbling.

When Solaire is ready to go he is taken to a mutant named HopScotch, whoo has the ability to teleport short distances. Hopscotch takes Solaire as close to Richmond as the young mutant can go before the effects of the teleporting start to become to much for him. Standing in a woods near I81 and a country crossroad, Solaire gets his bearings and using the map he figures he is but 4 days from Richmond. HopScoth bids him good luck before starting back for the X-Force camp. Throwing hos sack across his back Solaire starts walking through the woods to his new assignment.

The guard with the baton slams Sheng hard in the mid-section. The blow causes the sorcerer to stagger back a step. Enraged by the assault Sheng surrounds the duo in a ring of fire, the flare of light and heat blinding them enough for Sheng to run past and down the hall the scroll close to hand.

Providence walks to the doors and opens them wide, looking into the room.

Providence will not do a soliloquy quite yet, she's still too new at this "superhero" type thing (and of course, she speaks in broken English).
But, she will be doing it later on when the time seems right. In the meantime, she will be a bit silent around strangers.
