Multiclassing shaman would give her the ability to summon up a spirit companion (Mushu), let him attack a bit and consult with her, without tainting her with the other shaman-y powers. She has the wisdom for it, in my opinion.

Yeah though it kind of gives an always in the battle effect... where as a familiar that you once in a while funnel a blast power through (like the dragonling familiar can, kind of works too. The bards armor weapons and even the fighting with cunning was attractive enough that giving in and having alchemy and arcane tainting the picture more than I wanted seemed like a trade off. ).
