D&D 5E Multiclass vs. hybrid subclasses

What's the level progression?

Also, the book says "you can never have more sorcery points than shown on the table for your level". That limits this sorcerer to 2 sorcery points max ever. So you can't build up a large sorcery point vault by expending spells and then short resting.

... Not sure if joking or not.

Just in case not joking: A Sorcerer 3, can have 3 Sorcery points. Which, if you're build up spell slots, you convert into spell slots before converting the Pact Magic slots into Sorcery points.

As for level progression: Favoured Soul 1, Archfey Warlock 1, Favoured Soul 3, Archfey Warlock 2.

I'm still not seeing what your trying to benefit with sorcery points and short rest spell slots. Elaborate how it works a little, I'm interested?

The melee bard's not my build, nor do I care enough to build one for you.

Well with the last 5+ posts between us being about your build and you not quoting which post it was in reference to then no one had a clue your quick comment wasn't about your sorcerer warlock build. Sorry I had no way of knowing.

Oh that's both simple and very cheesy. Like, heart-attack levels of cheese.

You have X Sorcery Points (in this case, 3). You convert those into spell slots (in this case probably a single second level one). Now you have no Sorcery Points.

You convert your Pact Magic slots into Sorcery Points (in this case, 2), then those back into regular spell slots (in this case a single 1st level slot). Now you have an extra 2nd level spell slot, and an extra 1st level slot, but all your pact magic is expended.

Now you short rest, and recover your Pact Magic slots. Then you turn those into Sorcery Points, back into spell slots, and repeat until you have enough/run out of time.

Obviously it gets quicker at higher Warlock levels, when your Pact Magic gives higher slots.

Interesting. How useful that is at up to level 5 is really subjective. I would personally rate it as a slight benefit. Situationally useful but those situations will come up rarely in the games I've been a part of.

It's campaign dependent. If you're travelling between cities, for instance, get yourself a wagon, and you can do the whole process while travelling.
