Murdering the multi-attack-stat class

I may be way off here, but I thought that some classes were based around the idea that they can hit more often but do less damage (rogues) and some can do more damage but hit less often (barbarian). Wouldn't your system completely screw that idea?

Does that generalization work? dont other features of the powers have a reverse impact on that ... Doesnt a barbarian having attacks which damage on a miss or attack all in a burst? Dont rogues hit more reliably by use of CA? and attack using their primary the same as a barbarian attacks using his primary?

it actually doesn't matter, because I thought he was talking about all characters having the same to hit, he's just talking about characters not having their hit tied to an ability.

Thats actually a pretty cool idea Ketereys!

Right - the rogue still hits more often because of high proficiency bonus, combat advantage, targeting NADs with a weapon attack, etc... it did slightly lower the average damage on hit because, for instance, the warlock is using both Cha (18) and Con (14) based attacks, and the person who multiclassed cleric actually took an attack with their Wis 14, but it also slightly improved their chance to hit.

I've no regrets on how it works, but I really wish I knew how to make the character builder use the rule. That's the biggest downside so far.

Yeah the CB has a problem with implementing House rules.

My DM wants to give people weapon expertise and paragon defenses feat free. And then have them not count as feat bonuses.

For instance

Paragon defenses +1 to all
Shield expertise +1 reflex
Lightning reflexes +2 reflex
Would all combine to give a +3 bonus, shield expertise wouldn't stack but lightning reflexes would since its the larger of the two that stack.

So for the CB I have to actually white it out and change it. Which is just unfortunate.

I love and hate CB... It is great until I want anything custom. Cant even decently customize a race by calling it something different!!
