I heard good things about it, I also heard there is a D20 version, and a different system version. What one is better? What do people think of it?

i think you're confusing it with Silver Age Sentinels, which comes in both d20 and Tri-Stat flavors.

i have not played either version of SAS, but from what i hear, the Tri-Stat version has been better received.

It's a great game - but you're mistaken in one thing. MnM only comes in a d20 version.

Uhhh, technically M+M is an OGL game, oh peg-legged one.
It doesn't fully comply with the d20 license requirements.

/smart-*** mode.

Although even futher technically, M&M only requires a d20, so it's the purest form of d20 gaming unless you delve into trademark definitions. Which I've never seen need to probe too deeply - I may scoff at the legions of Hell and challenge fire-wyrms to single combat, but lawyers are scary.

Cool game, though. I'd recommend it.

Tri-Stat SAS is very good - it's a lot like Hero, with streamlined combat and slightly less involved math. Very nearly as flexible as Hero, but with a purer superhero bent than Hero has nowadays.

D20 SAS is, IMO, poorly done; a cash-in product slapped together with little understanding of the underlying logic of d20, and a poor intergation of superhero tropes with the system.

M&M, while it has some flexibility issues (compared to Hero and Tr-Stat SAS,) is a very serviceable d20 superhero game and an excellent adaptation of d20 mechanics into the supers genre.

Personally, my superhero game of choice is Hero. But I highly reccommend M&M for those looking for a good d20 supers system.

What's best about MnM from the GM's point of view are twofold:

1. It is far easier to run a combat in MnM than in any other supers game I've seen.

2. Characters (ie., NPCs) take far less time to create than in other supers games.

For these reasons, I highly recommend you take a look at MnM if you're thinking about a new superhero game.

I loved M&M. everything about it.

I also really liked D20 SAS. And I will diagree with the previous poster. I thought that the modern rules in SAS, were better at handling modern scenarios than D20 Modern - autofire, bursts, radiation, etc.

People didn't like it becuse it used the D20 mechanic, but varied some of the rules to much. If that makes sense.

I don't buy at all that they have little understanding. I thought they had great understanding. I just wished it was color!

I really liked it. It also has some of the best RP gaming advice you'll find.
