These are amazing @Fifth Element.

Let’s leave selling stolen IP to Justin…Let's not talk about the mint you could make selling these, of course! That would be wrong. ;-P
Indeed it would be. In fact I hesitated a bit about posting these, worrying that there might be some people asking to get copies, which I obviously cannot do. They must remain forever for my personal use only.Let's not talk about the mint you could make selling these, of course! That would be wrong. ;-P
There are some options, but not a lot. It's been a while since I did these, but as I recall there was only one type of hardback binding (in addition to softcover and spiral, etc), only one weight of paper, with options for white or cream, and I think you can get glossy paper. The paper is heavier that what actual 1E books used, so that's another way you can tell these books are not genuine if you see them in person.Sorry if i ask you about such details but i am interested in knowing the printing options provided by Lulu (i am going with Drivethru). I understand that there is not chance to select any kind of cover. Is there ar least the option for the hardback binding (there are 2 main types of binding for hardbacks) and the type of paper (gloss/matte, thick/thin,...)?
I'm working on another intensive project inspired by this, but it will probably take a few more months work to complete. I'll make sure to post them here when they're done. These are amazing @Fifth Element.

If you have pics of those I'd love to see them.Wonderful work. I did something very similar for Dark Sun, making a series of 2e hardbacks for the line. I love this kind of thing![]()
Yes exactly! When I was 13 I was playing 1E AD&D. These were a lot of work but they make my inner 13-year-old very happy. It's nice to see people creating the books that only existed in their 13-year-old imaginations.
I also have this dream. But I think it is quite unlikely.I wish WotC and Drivethru would open the DMsGuild to this kind of thing. Or at least things made for older editions.

40 years on, I occasionally dream of finding lost/forgotten AD&D tomes in used book stores. I remember these dreams because in trying desperately to read the books... I wake myself up.
You could print a few extra copies, and place them surreptitiously on library or used book store shelves!![]()
Slip one into the Gary Con charity auction.Lake Geneva public library, see if you can start a rumor the way the Necronomicon card catalog entry at Yale did.

I was kidding about this but the more I think about it it might be cool. If everything is above board and in the level it might be very cool.Slip one into the Gary Con charity auction.
Make sure to leave a huge note clearly stating that it is a modern production…. That won’t fake anyone out at all.
To be above board it would need the permission of any copyright holder of any material in the book.I was kidding about this but the more I think about it it might be cool. If everything is above board and in the level it might be very cool.

Thanks to Justin, the legal eyes of WotC are on the small publisher community. Thanks to Justin, gone are the days of Jayson Elliot using TSR as a company to put out his own stuff. For a charity auction?
Yea I suppose so.
