My cat has died and it hurts very much

My condolences on you lost.

Family dogs of ours had died when I was young, but now I am the sole caretaker for my cat. She will be 17 next month. Fortunately she has been healthy. It will take some time for me once she's gone.

I'm sorry to hear it, my friend. Owning ten pets myself, and quite a few before now, I understand how tough it is to let one go.

My sympathies.

Just keep thinking you gave him a good life.
Perhaps a better life than some humans.
When my rabbits died that thought kept me going rather than sinking.
It's going to hurt for a long time because it means you really did care, and it also means he did too.
That exact moment will not come again, it was unique and it's uniqueness gives it greater meaning and importance.

Consider visiting an animal shelter when you feel up to it. Many animals have lived awful lives and are looking for the same sort of love and home you gave to your cat.

Good luck to you, I think you'll make it through.

Aww, I'm so sorry. I'd have to disagree with Algolei and say that all cats are better than most people, and it's just as hard losing one of them as it is a best friend you've had for years. I know the day will come when I have to look at my future without their companionship, but I'll be sure to cherish every instant until then.
