Yep. When I saw I was only a few posts shy of 9k half an hour ago, I decided to use my 9000th post for my second post in this thread. Silly, I know, but it just felt good so I did it.

I know you'll still look for him for awhile. That's normal. I looked for those cats I had disappear to suddenly reappear. But they never do. It's going to take time. One day when you're ready for it, go find a successor to follow in his kitty-steps. The new cat can never replace your lost friend but can become a new friend.

I'm so sorry for your (and your mother's) loss.

Even though it's been several years since my Greyhound died suddenly and unexpectedly, I still think of him often.
