Michael, I'm sorry to hear it, and I pray for you that everything works out fantastically. My father went through the exact same thing in 1987 (triple bypass), and lived for many years thereafter with no health problems.

My best wishes go out to you Michael and your father and family. I know how difficult such times can be, my mother was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago for major (but luckily non-life-threatening) surgery and had a mnor heart attack in April. I'll be sure to keep you in my thoughts.
