My gaming stuff is gone!

the Jester

Legend
As many of you are aware, I'm preparing to take off on a big cross-country adventure. I'm a little behind schedule (heh... what else is new? ), but I'm leaving tomorrow now that the last major task I had to do is done... which was to pass on my gaming stuff to a friend (until I return, anyway).

Sad, sad day... four boxes of books and stuff, and a lot of binders, notebooks, etc are still here (I'm leaving the majority of my stuff with a non-gamer friend). But...

Even though I'm gone in 22 hours, no more reading the MM2 when I'm on the can!

No more referencing the books when I'm checking out the rules forum!

It's always a sad day when a gamer has to give up his gaming stuff, even if temporarily... :( :( :( :(

Sigh.

Wow, going cold Turkey, brave soul. So, where are you going and how long will you be without gaming?

Well, I'm leaving tomorrow evening for a cross-country adventure. I may cross into Canada while I'm at it; my first planned stop is in Seattle. It's all very spontaneous; I don't have a planned route (though I do plan to drop in on a few folk I know here and there) or timetable. I started a thread about my real-world adventures that I'll post to periodically with various humorous anecdotes and ideas, thoughts, whathaveyou.

As for how long I'll be without gaming- well, I hope to game on the trip now and then!

Wish me luck...

Do don't carry even a PHB?
It's cute and amusing, it will keep you warm in long winter nights. Don't leave your PHB.

Okay, dirty little bad secret that a lawyer-boy like me should never speak out loud...

In fact, you kids at home, stop reading right now.

...Nuh, uh. Don't be talking about that stuff here...Shame on you, Mistwell...Dinkeldog

And for you kids that peeked (that means you), do not attempt this at home. Go buy the books, don't give in to the temptation. This is a special case, that's all. In general (that means you), it's a bad, wrong idea.

What's scary is all the possibilities my subconsious suggests to take the place of whatever he may have actually said. I mean, how practical was my idea that he suggested a Shadowrun-style raid on WOTC?
