You can't change people, you can't legislate intelligence, and common sense ain't that common.

But congrats on the Unclehood, Mr. Darkfang. My wife and I had a 3.5 month preemie in September of last year (2.4 lbs.), and now he's a smiling, babbling, 18-lb. guy. I've got the "proud father" pics to prove it!

Awwwwwwww! :D

My wife and I try for about ten years to get pregnant (she has a birth defect that makes for about a one in a million chance). I get really mad, pissed off and rather rude when I see people smoking about women that are expecting and get a little more then pissed off when I see a woman that is with child sucking down cancer sticks.

I have come to the conclusion that you can't change people. People are told what smoking does to the unborn, and they ignore that, they lose their baby or the kid is born with serious problems- why? Cause people are stupid.

My wife and I have practiced and practiced, trying with all our heart to get with child. Not sure of how good of parents we will be, but chances are the kid will know we want him or her.

On the 25th, my wife gave me a card (she was five days late)- I guess even the unlucky get lucky once in a while. :D :D :D

Hope it worked out for ya! :D

If not, have you tried fertility clinics? Even with a test tube conception.. you might have better luck if you can't do this naturally.

it's sad, really, that people who really want kids can't have them and those who don't spit them out one after another...

Maybe it was Mom's smoking that'd given me those extra fingers and toe that she had to get removed after I was born.... :\

Naa. Those are just genetic birth defects. Sorta like the extra-toed cats Hemingway liked. Also, from what I understand, Marilyn Monroe had an extra toe.

Smoking gives you low birth weight, learning problems etc.

And it ought to be a law that families with children should ONLY be seated in the non-smoking section of a restaurant.

A smoking section in a resturant is like a peeing section in a swimming pool.

Well not to be a party pooper in this bash smoking mothers thread but.....
Many doctors will tell a prgnant mother who smokes not to quit but to cut down. Why you may ask. Well the withdrawl will be felt by the fetus and is often more dangerous than the smoking itself. Having quit smoking almost 2 years ago I can attest to how rough on the body withdrawl symptoms can be. Keep this in mind next time you see a preganant woman smoking.
