Mystic Theurge build, plz help

Dump cleric and go Dread Necromancer. Have everyone in the party take Tomb Tainted Soul. Unlimited healing. Plaster the area with negative energy spells. More healing. Then go the corpsecrafter string of feats. Create your own army. Take over the world.

Mechnomancer: An even MORE limited spell selection and a ton of special abilities I'll never, ever, see in the entire build? Why bother? As for convincing everyone else to take Tomb Tainted Soul just to accomodate my character... ah, no. Even I have my limits for bending the rules to work for me. As far as creating my own army and taking over the world, every character can do that... and often does...

EDIT: Aside from that, no Death Domain for Dread Necromancers (yet again). EDIT 2: AND it's an arcane spellcasting class. I suppose you could do a Dread Necromancer/Wizard/Ultimate Magus, but that's not the character I'm looking at...

Durza120: -nods- Augment Summoning is a good feat for conjuring types.

Guys, I've looked at all the class options for this character, through all the official books, and Cloistered Cleric is the best fit I can see. My heart's set on it, no need to bring up alternate class options."

I think you misunderstand me. Dump everything, but the Dread Necromancer. Don't bother buffing your party members. When they die, you can buff up their corpses, as they make up new characters. Each new character is a potential recruit into your new army. Oh, and Tomb Tainted Soul is for their benefit, as you will have unlimited healing abilities. Not great, but them living is couterproductive to your goal of taking over the world, anyway.

Assay resistance is in complete arcane I think - 4th level spell... and a very nice one too!

Doesn't fare well if you're fighting a lot of foes with SR though, but everything has a downside somewhere!

Would be interested in seeing the final results of this if you don't mind posting them somewhere? :)

Mechomancer: Ah, ok. Still no. Firstly, I would like to keep my friends and secondly, DN spell selection is far too limited for my tastes. Aside from that, I'm not really trying to create a pure necromancer here. Necromancy will be more of a sideline, in reality the only reason I'm going True Necromancer is that it's the only really viable choice after Mystic Theurge unless I want to completely drop one class. Aside from that, you have to become a Lich, which really makes it hard to pick up barmaids. ;)

AL: Will take a look, you sort of can't get around fighting Outsiders in DnD, so keeping it in mind is certainly a must. Sure, :) I'll try and keep y'all up to date on the game, see how it plays.

Good grief, all these replies and no fast-MT? Here, then, is fast-MT:

What you need to do is take Sorc 1/CC 3/MT 3. You use Precocious Apprentice to fulfil the "ability to cast 2nd-level arcane spells" requirement. Both your turn attempts and your Sorc spells work off charisma. Precocious Apprentice REQUIRES that you take Sorc as your first level (it's part of the tradeoff.)

If the DM doesn't like it, point out that you have no other way to be a real MT at 7th level.

Except for the official response that's stated "No, Precocious Apprentice doesn't work that way, it was never the intention, our bad for not expressly writing out that it doesn't work for fulfilling pre-requisites in the initial writeup of the feat".

Covered in the FAQ, page 19.
