NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

Has anybody here ever seen "Boohbah" on PBS? That show is completely wack, perhaps wacker (is that a word?) than the Telletubbies. Regardless, it is keeping my daughter busy long enough to post this message, so it can't be all bad, right?

Anyway, a few quick things:

I'm not sure why the Game Day site is down at the moment but I'm assuming that this is temporary. I do know that Neal has been very busy with work lately and frankly so am I. I've just started a new business and it has predictably taken up huge chunks of my time. But I have managed to arrange a lunch with Neal next Tuesday so we can iron out any last minute issues with the Game Day.

At this point, I'm honestly not sure what to expect. There doesn't seem to have been much in the way of sign ups to run RPGA and board games as there has been in the past. I don't know if the majority of the Trinocon crowd is just going to sit this one out or are simply taking their time in putting their games up. I don't think it really matters much either way. We've still got a nice variety of RPG's up there and there are some board games in the offing.

Two issues that need to be dealt with as soon as possible are the all-important "Where do we eat beforehand?" and "Where do we eat afterwards?" questions. I'm still planning on Errico's for the Friday night get together unless there are big objections. With Game Day only a couple weeks away, I probably need to make the reservation, so please sound off if you're planning on coming.

As far as the "After Dinner", I was going to go with the earlier suggestion that we default back to Rock-Ola with the idea that I let them know in advance to expect a largish group and to phone in an accurate head count on Game Day. Does this sound good to everyone?

And now would be a good time to post any last minute issues that people have that I need to bring up with Neal at our lunch. I know that there are a couple of things that need tweaking on the Game Day site and that will be a topic of conversation. But I also observe that we seem to have gotten past a lot of the learning curve and folks had far fewer problems with registering and signing up to run and play in games than we did last time.

Lastly and personally, anybody who hasn't already read through the Orcz character briefs I posted upthread and expressed a character preference is encouraged to do so. And it might be beneficial to read through the intro that I posted in this thread as well as over at the Game Day site in the forums ("Game Info" is the forum, I think).

Thanks to everyone who is helping to make this happen. If you weren't all so easy to work with, I would never be able to pull this together at such a busy time of my life. Gotta run now. Somebody wants a bowl of Cheerios to snack on while she watches the amorphous minions of Boohbah!

Now, I just read all 11 pages of that thread, and darn if I can remember any of it. Ah well. I've signed up for my games, and am planning to come to dinner. So tell me, so that I don't have to slog through the thread again, when and where is the pre-game dinner?

Well, well my wayward lovely, you've arrived. Dinner at Errico's on Friday night (the 24th obviously). Shall we say 7:00?

For those who are not members of the Yahoo group (the one linked in Belen Umeria's sig), Neal popped in there to mention that the server outage for the Game Day site was temporary and caused by a lengthy power outage at his house that overcame the capabilities of his UPS. We don't anticiapate this being an ongoing problem.

Just so's you know.

I'm saddened to post this, and I hope that everyone understands that it has been made only after exhausting all resources to do otherwise.

I cannot make Gameday V.

My fiance and I have bought a house and have had the closing date moved up by two weeks to place it on Friday, September 24. We will beginning to move on that weekend and I have no other option but to simply cancel on the game itself.

I do hope to make it to the next Gameday and I also hope that everyone that I was looking forward to see will not be too upset at my absence. To the one individual that did sign up for my game, I do apologize. To Jeph and others, I'm sorry that we won't have me playing Shark Tracey ... I'd really looked forward to it in the past days.

Rel, can you help me cancel my game and log me out of the other one?

Sorry to hear that, Adamantineangel. But don't worry about it too much. The great thing I've discovered about the NC Game Days is that there's always another one just around the corner. We'll see you then.

In the mean time, you should be able to cancel your registration for the event you are signed up for. Just pull that particular event up and look near the bottom of the page beneath the list of folks signed up for it. I'll leave your game up until tomorrow sometime to give you time if you'd like to personally e-mail the player signed up for it. I believe that when I cancel it, the site will automatically send e-mails to all participants involved. But if you would like to send a personal note to him, I don't want to yank his edress out from under you.

Good luck on the house buying thing. I dunno if you've ever bought one before but it is an exciting time. Also get ready to bust your butt constantly keeping the place up and know the shortest distance to the closest Lowe's or Home Depot. You'll wear that place out.

Congrats opn the house, A.A. but sorry you won't be able to make it to the Gameday. See you next one?

On the other side of the news, this weekend I got to playtest my Eberron game - got some helpful suggestions, had some really fun times, and came up with both two plot holes to fix, and the observation that the climax had to be dramatically altered. Lastly, I discovered that a Warforged Fighter with appropriate feats can do a LOT OF DAMAGE. :)

The excitement is building now; can't wait!
