NC Game Day XII: January 20th - BE THERE!

I don't disagree with you in principle but tell me the last time we had eight games running at once at a Game Day.

Are you saying that you're concerned if we don't set aside enough space that AF&G will seek to squeeze in another event alongside us?

I guess I just assumed we had the whole game room to ourselves. Is this not the case?

Also, I updated the AFNG site to include the NC Gameday. You can read about it here: http://www.allfunngames.com/news

I also designed a nifty Game Day banner (see attached). Cool, huh?

Henry, either you didn't read my entry, or you forgot to mention me! I'm running a Shadow of Yesterday game! That's the book I gave you at Gameday a while back.

You forgot the more obvious explanation: I'm :D:D:D:Ding blind as a bat. ;) So we still have a good amount of room, assuming about twelve or fourteen games total.

Belen, you bring me a quandry: I'm usually running 1E rules when I do it, though there is little difference overall. I'll think about it, and what I'll probably do is run 1E rules, but find out what kind of pre-gens people might want, and make the pre-gens up myself. It will save time on rules confusions.

Oh and as for me, I'm going to run another Pirates of the Caribbean: Warhammer Style game. I'd love to get the local crowd together to run it for them beforehand. Anybody up for that? And when would you be free?

I'm available virtually anytime on a weekend provided I have a decent amount of time to tweak my schedule.

I was thinking I'm going to set up a Grim Tales offering (maybe a new Arkham Squad offering),

Yes, please.

or maybe even an old-school AD&D offering, if there's interest. (Anyone up for an abbreviated Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl?)

Yes, please.

I'd love to offer my current infatuation (Warhammer, damn you Rel! :)) but I don't want to offer too much of one game.

Yes, p- You get the picture...

Arkham Squad was an absolute blast (I'm a Grim Tales junky), but so was the Hill Giant Steading when you ran it. And While I don't quite have my brain wrapped tightly around the Warhammer rules, I like the tone of the game.

I've only played in one Henry game, but you're right. He rocks. As does Rel. As does NCSUCodemonkey, on the off chance he makes it this year. NC Game days are chock full of awesome GMs.

I'd be all over some old-school AD&D. Just watch out for my 3.5 cluttered brain these days. ;)

I'm going to admit that I have somewhat of an ulterior motive to attending the con. I'm looking to form or join up with a semi-regular group for a D&D game (an old-school 1E flavor Greyhawk to be precise). If anybody would be interested in joining please speak up so we can chat at the con. :)

I intend to attend, and, if needed, I will gladly run something in one slot, as well. My thoughts for settings for such a game include:

1. Hanna-Barbaria - Medieval style adventuring using mostly 3.5 rules, involving a large number of integrated elements from 80s cartoons. Player races include Humans, Smurfs (as tiny constructs), Thundarans, Mongrels, Paxons (Pac-people), Avians, and Aquatics.

2. Mutants and Masterminds, set on Earth-H, the comic book parallel universe where Hostess Cupcakes and Fruit Pies could stop raging Hulks and rampaging supervillains.

3. Bel Brekka - A homebrewed low magic campaign setting where improvisation is expected, with rules drawn from 3.5 when they can't be handwaved. A more serious roleplay option than the other two, but still a lot of fun, as well.

Your thoughts?

There are lotsa yummy restaurants around the store including: Rodino's Pizza and Grinders, Chick-Fil-A, Red Hot & Blue, Burger King, and a Chinese restaurant (whose name escapes me). There's also a hot buffet available at the Whole Foods (in the same shopping center).
Also worth mentioning - at least I know I find it so ;) - is that in about five minutes you can be at Crazy Fire Mongolian Grill. Which is the best Mongolian BBQ that I am still aware of as being in existance. And my knowledge of such places is not slight. :D

AF&G hours for NC GameDay

Quick stupid question about the store hours for AF&G for that day: Will they open early? The website says they open at 10AM on Saturday.
