NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

Round 88

The jelly lowers itself to 60N40E10Z and lashes at the kython with its tendrils.

They hit! (Rolled 21) The kython takes one point of damage, plus it receives a jolt of electricity which it ignores. The kython has 10 hp left.

The kython growls angrily and leaps at the air jelly, snapping its jaws at the tentacles.

Can the kython hit these tentacles for damage, by any chance? Or attempt to grapple with the beast and pull it down? I like this creature, and I don't want it to just up and die!

The only way is to jump and attack the body, with either a grapple attempt or a natural weapon for damage. Otherwise creatures with reach would have no advantage over creatures that don't. This kython is not a jump expert, so the outlook isn't good.

Don't worry, if we get through this creature, we can move on to one of the advanced kythons. Or even a yugoloth!

The kython hisses angrily (everything it does is angry) at the air jelly and uses a withdraw action to hurry away to 40N0E.

From henceforth, the kython will attempt to pursue a draw, rather than succumb to this floating terror.

Round 89: The jelly moves to 40N0E10Z and hits (rolled 17+1=18 for higher ground) for 1 and the kython ignores the electrical damage. The kython has 9 HP remaining.

I take it the kython will try total defense from now on in the hope of not being hit for 5 straight rounds, because it moves much slower than the jelly and cannot get away.

The kython finally goes down in round 113. The jelly is at 40N0E10Z.

First in round 114 for Neutral Evil is a grimlock (Monster Manual)

Well, the ability description says:
Blindsense (and the Blind-Fight feat) cannot be used to target these ephemeral creatures; this may be the only thing that keeps large groups of airjellies from lashing out at each other. They simply don't realize other airjellies exist.

As airjellies are oozes, they are blind and possess 60 ft. blindsight, and translucent appears to keep them hidden from one another.

Oh. Good point, but it says they cannot be targeted, not that they cannot be detected. We will say that the grimlock, being considerably more intelligent than the jelly, will know roughly where the jelly is.

Blindsight is different from blindsense. That comment about translucent jellies not attacking each other makes zero sense to me. A blindsighted creature uses other senses to "see" perfectly. Creatures with blindsense can pinpoint squares but still have to worry about concealment.
