NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

If the monstrosity time filches itself, is that a draw or a loss or neither? If it's a draw, he does it. If it's a loss, he doesn't. If it's neither, he does it and then hopefully will get the chance to levitate up for a draw or dim door away and up for a draw.

That is a great question. It was not considered a draw when both combatants time filched together, because five rounds had not gone by relative to them.

We have to decide if time hopping forward seven minutes constitutes leaving the arena. One could argue that the filcher is not leaving the arena, because, relative to itself, it is always there. In that case, it would probably be a draw. However, relative to its opponent, it has left and then returned (as if it had plane shifted out and then gated back in). Gansk, as the final arbiter, what do you think?

This is why time travel is impossible. Too many paradoxes. :)

Amazingly, the monstrosity breaks free (23 vs. 22 grapple), then starts floating up. It repulses the carpet's attempt at grappling (rolled 16), dealing 3 points of damage. The carpet has 54 HP remaining. The monstrosity is at 55N15E20Z.

Round 402

The carpet starts flapping and flies up to 60N20E5Z.

After further review, I realize that the carpet is way too slow to catch up to the monstrosity if it just goes up 20 feet every round.

A draw is declared after round 406.

Round 407

A big lizard enters the arena for the Neutral side. Gansk will fill in the details.

To give time to formulate tactics, I will let you know what comes in for Neutral Evil after the lizard comes in. It is an ogre zombie (Monster Manual). At least this one has brains, unlike Skeletor.

Round 407: A hippopotamus-sized beast covered with short, grizzled fur moves to 55N80E.
It has thick legs ending in massive claws, and two large tusks project horizontally from its lower jaw. Unfortunately, it does not resemble a lizard.

Next in round 407 is the ogre zombie.

Ogre the ogre zombie moves to 60n30e and stands there impassively with a greatclub in one hand and a javelin in the other. If the hippo comes close, Ogre will use the club. Otherwise, Ogre will use the javelin and then move up to use the club. If Ogre gets grappled, he'll slam away. Time compression is in order.

Round 408: Dipsy charges to 55N40E. I'll let Ogre make some free actions to take an AoO, although I'm not sure it is legal. Ogre drops the javelin, puts his other hand on the greatclub and hits (rolled 14). Dipsy takes 18 and has 58 hp left.

Dipsy gores Ogre with his tusks (rolled 29+2) for 9-5=4 damage. Ogre has 51 hp left.

Ogre hits for 18. Dipsy has 40 hp left.

Round 409: Dipsy claws twice and gores for 29-5=24 total. Ogre has 27 hp left.

Ogre clubs for 22. Dipsy has 18 hp left.

Round 410: Dipsy gores for 15-5=10 and backs up to 50N45E. Ogre has 17 hp total.

Ogre clubs for 16. Dipsy has 2 hp left.

Round 411: Dipsy withdraws and burrows into the ground. A draw is declared at the end of round 415.

Round 416: A huge snake slithers to 55N80E.

Next for NE in round 416: a clay half-golem. (MM II)

Cassius trundles to 60n35e. He appears as a man-sized and man-shaped lump of clay wearing boxer briefs pulled up above where his belly button would be. He holds his hands up in the air over his head and shouts for the world to hear, "I am the greatest of all time!"
