Need a weapon for Sacrifices

Sacrificing someone with a scythe!?! What, are you gunna be standing on the alter? I think it would be comedic (to say the least) watching the evil cult leader trying to slash someone lying on an alter 3-4 feet off the ground with a scythe (unless he's filleting the guy from toe to head like a fish!).

But seriously, just make it a magical dagger of sacrificing that invokes a slay living spell when used to make a sacrifice. Or that deals an extra 5d6 sneak attack damage when sacrificing. Or poison (but that doesn't really seem like the intent here - generally cultists don't rely on poison to the job).

Best Idea Ever: Bag of Devouring! Problem is there is no price, but is idea since its pretty much auto-death, and there is almost no chance of bringing them back.

That reminds me, I still need to make a PrC that forms a symbotic realationship with one (Ill feed you if you spit out whatever is left on them).

How about a good old pit with molten lava?
That should do plenty of damage - if you are concerned about that.

I'd probably skip the rules here a little, go with a jewelled dagger and go with the assumption that, unless there's battle going on around, there's no need for a coup de grace - just stab him and he dies... ;-)

How about a Scythe? They do 2d4 points of damage on a normal hit, and they have a x4 critical. On average, without any strength bonus, that's 16 points of damage on a crit.
I have to agree here. Scythes rock! :D

Should make for a rather difficult Fort save to avoid instant death on a CDG, too, I think.

The average damage would be 20 points (2.5*2*4) in this case, BTW.

Bah, virgins! You don't find that many of them, since Sune has paladins and they use their special tactic to protect those virgins (somewhat akin to spraying baby seals' coats with color so they're of no more use for poachers)

I will use this justification for my TrueNeutral Barbarian... he certainly is making sure there are no unblemished females for evil cults !

Is the rule book actually jumping off the table and tieing your hands together??

You are the DM for Cris'sakes.... Just have the sacrifice die when stabbed.

I can't believe you are actually planning on *rolling* for a flavor activity.

When did I say I was the DM? I am going to be in a good party, pretending to worship a good deity

BTW: Cast bull's strength on yourself before making the sacrifice if you're that worried about damage. With the +4 Str it grants you, that's an extra 8 points of damage (assuming a x4 crit weapon: 2x4) right there. :)

since I will be possing as a cultist of a NG deity to gain an army, money, and power through my sacrifices, even with my +29 to diplomancy and +12 to bluff that might be tricky to convince if im torturing them...
Que??? No comprende senor.

The last I checked sacrifices were evil, and not something that a NG deity would condone. What do you plan to do when someone in the party makes their Knowledge (Religion) check and realizes that good deities don't condone sacrifices, thus you are not a cleric of a good deity?
