Forget the Black dragons, a Gold dragon is seen acting oddsly and killing things without cause...the Gold Dragons come to deal with it.

I like that idea. Sounds good.
For the other posts.... he is using the 9th level spell "shape change" not wild shape ability...... thats why im having such a hard time fighting it. Reading the spell,,, its pretty powerful. This next adventure they are going to go up against about 200 orc soldiers in a zhent army. There will be about 5 stone giant fighters 19 cr (but still unable to hit the dragon, but able to put a hell of a fight up with the party), and 2 improved invisible sorcerers to counter spell any of the partys spells). This should provide a good fight for them providing the damn dragon dosent breath continiously on the bunch and just wipe them all out easily.

Actually, i have a better idea. This big dragon will attract the attention, why u dont use a family of black dragon, the players are probably in their territory.

Use a great wyrm and two old black dragon who seach the gold dragon who beat everything in the swamp, what do you tink ?

Ok, this time I have useful advice lol. Shape change allows you to change into a form with hit die up to your caster level. As a lvl 19 druid, the caster level is 19. The highest gold dragon form he can turn into is a Juvenile, because it has 17 hit die. Anything stronger has too many hit die and thus can't be done.

See, I am not a total bimbo :p .

Better idea.

Creature Collection 2, Slacerian Dragon, Great Wyrm. Disjoin EVERY little piece of his abilities. :p

Then have it cast Sever. Let's see him handle THAT. :p

Talk to him

Talk to your Player. Let him know that his consistant Shape Change choice is not helping your campaign energy.

If he continues- well, it is a high level campaign, it might be time to either accept the fact that you will have to deal with things like this or that it's time to move on to another campaign- "this one has run its course."

Drat,, thought i had a loophole here for a min but,,,,,,,
Shapechange enables you to assume the form of any single nonunique creature with no more than TWICE your level in Hit Dice.
Sorry,,, still searching for a way....
