The consecrated harriar would be a terrible foe if near the higher levels in the class. +6-+10 bonuses TH and DMg vs anyone involved in the theft of the artifact? like, ouch!
There are 3 types, they are in the 3.5 SRD. Rereading them, it looks like the Zelekhut may fit your needs, with a little modification to improve it's tracking. The at will Clairvoyance combined with the Locate Creature ability should help with that.
