Need Help Mounting Plastic Mini's on Bases.

The link I put up at the top for clipping shears are a bit more expensive than the ones you can get at Games Workshop, but they are far superior in quality. Not to mention Micro-Mark is a great company to work with for miniature tools and has always done right by me in over five years of orders. Even when someone stole a delivery from my porch, they had a full replacement at no cost sent immediately while it was being investigated.
Five years of orders is good for an on-line company. With all of your good experiences with the company I'll have to see if I can order from them. Thanks for pointing them out.

Who steals from someone's porch in the middle of the day? We've had 12 packs of sodas stolen off our porch at night, but never deliveries.

The second link was to the adhesive category for the same company, which has all the versions and sizes of Zap-A-Gap, as well as this for accelerator:

http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=80885

However, the Quick-Cure Zap-A-Gap says it cures in 1-5 seconds... so you may want to just use that then mess with glue AND accelerator.
I don't need quick cure, maybe Medium cure so I can get things placed just how I like them. Seconds are just my speed, instead of 30 minutes or more like most epoxy's.

Thanks for the links and help DethStryke.

When I rebase, I usually use superglue on the original glue points with a spray accelerator to set the glue instantly.

Spray accelerator for superglue?......

Superglue's special ingredient is Cyanoacrylate; an acrylic resin that sets almost instantly. The only trigger it requires is the hydroxylions in water, which is convenient since virtually any object you might wish to glue will have at least trace amounts of water on its surface.
Instead of spending money, just apply water!! Cyanoacrylate molecules start linking up when they come into contact with water, and they whip around in chains to form a durable plastic mesh. The glue thickens and hardens until the thrashing molecular strands can no longer move.

He blinded me, with SCIENCE!

:) That's awesome. I learn something new every day. No wonder it sticks so well to my fingers!

LOL That is pretty cool- thanks for the info!

I was just using imprecise language, though, really; instead of "superglue" I should have said "modelling epoxy" or something similar. Basically, I just mean that I use the liquid epoxy, hold the mini in place, then zap it with the quick-setting accelerator. It is not really necessary for basing minis but helps a lot with oddly positioned weapons, body parts, etc. such as you frequently find with Games Workshop minis. I loathe having to hold parts together in place to let them set; it takes literally seconds to do using the accelerator.
