I thought it was a little early for them to bring Faith in JUST yet. I mean they still have to work out Buffy's stuff. Anyway we'll see what comes further down the road.

Btw I agree with Henry, the Beast has gone from just being a simplitic Big Bad to THE Biggest Bad Evil I've seen since...well I hate to say but the Mayor. :)
Well, there are 4 eps until Faith comes in (if IMDB is right). And I thought the Mayor was great, man. I'm watching the Season 3 Buffy set right now and I have to say he the villain that you just love to hate. :)

Well, sure, they don't have lots of loyalty to their employees. But they obviously like having human operatives in their quest to bring about the apocalypse; a security system that kills off all their remaining operatives in a building doesn't seem like such a good security system.

You have to keep one thing in mind: Lilah said the building only shuts down in case of overwhelming catastrophe. By the time lockdown had occurred, there was no one left alive in the building except for Conner, Lilah, and Wesley and maybe a handful of others. It had gotten to totally loss by the time any security kicked in - it struck me as one of those "we'll take them out with us!!!" kind of moves that Wolfram and Hart are famous for.

I gotta say, the Beast hasn't approached "Mayor" status yet... but he's growing on me. :)

AHHHHH! AAAHHH! GET HIM OFF! GET - HIM - OFF!! AAAH!

I like the Beast. He's no villain, though, just an extra-super monster, like the ubervamp on Buffy lately. Villains have plans and machinations and evil. The Beast just kills things. He's bad but not evil, if you know what I mean. The Mayor and Angelus were evil. So far, the beast is just a tank. He seems to have the beginning of something going, with the power-taking in the last scene, but it could be just "Ug, get power, to kill more stuff."

And yes, Wesley with the grenades. Where's the rocket launcher?

Oh, I think he's just being eponymous more than anything else. He doesn't much care for supervillain banter...but I expect he has some, if he chooses. He's only spoken two lines so far, but the first one was about as evil as it gets: "Do you really think she's safe...with HIM?" The implications alone acted like a dagger of ice to Angel's heart, playing off of every fear he's got running in one fell swoop.

His strangely bemused facial expressions are fun. And I like Westley becoming something of a gadgeteer. It helps further differentiate his character from Fred, concept-wise. Either that, or he's on a long, slow slide into turning into Chow Yun-Fat, particularly from 'Hard Boiled'.

Not that I think that's a bad thing. :D

Okay, I'm just surprised that noone's mentioned THE CLUE that the little girl gave before she ported Angel & co. back to the hotel... "The answer is among you"

The real question here is who/what IS the Beast? A nagging voice in the back of my head keeps whispering things like "Alternate-Future Angelus". It uttered one word this episode: "Connor" -- with an evil, menacing - yet mysteriously pleased (perhaps, proud?) smile.

I'm grooving on this season, too.

Mmmmmm, so far the big bad has me thinking that he is not a bad but an equilizer. I think he is balancing sides. It a strange feeling I am picking up.

I don't see Angel and gang defeating him but banashing him.

Now will we Willow make it over to Angel if Buffy does not return and with her real life with Wes?

I think he's asking if Alyson Hannigan will appear as a regular on Angel next season if Buffy doesn't come back...

...but I could be wrong. :)

Methinks Henry is right. Two things you had to know to understand that:

1) Joss has said that one or two of the Buffy crew could end up moving over to Angel if this is the last season of Buffy. I'd think Xander and Willow would be the prime candidates.

2) Alyson Hannigan, who plays Willow, is dating the guy who plays Wesley, in real life.
