Never said I was or wanted it treated as a miniature board game. I dont. They can write all the narrative they want. Id just like to be able to not have to read through it every time Im looking up a spell or a class ability. Perhaps I didnt articulate myself correctly. If they added a mechanic block above the narrative text I'd be cool with that. Reformatting the way things are presented would be preferable to me. I think the PHB isnt presented in a way that makes things very accessible at the game table was my point. Sorry if I wasnt more clear.
I can understand the desire... I just don't know how likely it is to get done. They intentionally didn't do the spell mechanics in a 4E style in the original 5E PHB because that seemed to be an issue for a lot of people. So I would be very surprised if they changed their mind on that if they actually decided to update anything to a 5.5.

At this point you probably just need to write up your own spellblocks for the spells you use if flipping and reading through the PHB is really that time consuming. Because hoping 5.5E does it doesn't seem fruitful.

maybe they could sell cards for it?

I am still trying to figure out what archetype bards even come from.

formatting would be nice, I love the lore but I want to be able to build it and get it working fast and easy.
I havent played much in years, mostly DM'd 5E, but have gotten to play more recently. Every time I have to delve into the PHB to create or update a character its just seems like a lot of page flipping and reading a paragraph or two just to find that something does 1d8 damage, as an example. Just seems it should be easier. IDK maybe its always been this way and Im just cranky as Im getting older?

clerics are fine, on ranger we are like of one mind.
personally, I put a lot into monk which is madly one of my favourite classes along with a mystic which did not suck.
Clerics are mostly fine - one of my favorite classes to run these days, actually. My comments were just suggestions for diversifying some of the core features. For instance: a range of possible outcomes for Divine Intervention.

Rangers, of course, are terrible. :ROFLMAO: I requested a spell-less ranger with spell-casting subclasses. That requires beefing up the core class, which means more support for exploration and such, which just shines a spotlight on all the class' hyper-focus on combat.

I almost added monks to my classes to comment on, but I just don't feel like I know them well enough.
