Night on the Stonelands

Okay, here's what I see is the plan:

As a dragon, I can carry Derebrak on my back. Artemus will shapechange into a bat and scout ahead. Meanwhile, Van & Lenet will track them on the ground. Kaemris guards the caravan.

Other things to consider: tomorrow, I can try and locate object ... if we had something to locate on one of those children. Perhaps I can try and locate something with that Orcish symbol upon it?

If at some point I'm given the chance to rest and memorize more spells, I promise you, I canl make those Orcs come screaming out of their lair, gladly hand over the children (all of whom will have been freshly bathed and groomed), and then plead with us to kill them as mercifully as possible.

Normally, I'm a very jocular person... but these Orcs have got on my bad side...

OOC: Actually, it can be used to find a specific item, just not a unique item. I believe it could be used to find a patch with that symbol on it. From the SRD: Attempting to find a specific item, such as a particular piece of jewelry, requires a specific and accurate mental image; if the image is not close enough to the actual object, the spell fails.

I looked at the SRD too. You can locate a unique item if you've seen it!

(Oh, and these orcs don't have any embroidered patches. The symbol is just scrawled on their shields in (what looks like) blood.)

OOC: Good point! Well, we can try and find out if those kids had anything remarkable on them (of course, it'll probably be removed by that time... oh, well. I can do lots of other stuff, too! Did anyone see me turn into a dragon? Did ya? Huh? Did ya? :)

Darabrac Bramblefoot

OOC: for some reason i wasnt getting updates. sorry

IC: I can fly, dont need to be carried. I say we go now, we have lanterns aplenty and can give signal whistles to the settlers. We dont want to loose them before they get away.

But if it is decided that we set out come dawn, then thats what we shall do. But who will look after my precious supply wagons? And there is the matter of a certain thief.

[But remember, Darabrac...you can't see...]

Artemus, since you are from Hullack Forest, you also recognize this tribe that Van describes, the Blackbones Tribe...the fey folk (nixies, pixies, sprites) and elves of Hullack hate them...their chieftain is called Cressyl Blackbones. You've never seen him, but his might is legendary...it is said he stands nearly seven feet tall, has arms like tree trunks, rust-red skin, and the stench of smoldering ashes hangs in the air around him...

"We'll be fine!" shouts Runold Rolf. "Bring back our children...please!" The others seem to agree.

Artemus Thornwind here

Ah Cressyl Blackbones. He has been the scourge of Hullack forest and now he is spreading his destruction elsewhere. The balance must be restored.
Thinking more about this, I think I should shape change into a wolf and stick with Van and Lenet on the ground. There is (virtually) no chance of me losing them as a wolf because it is so easy to follow the scent of sweaty Orcs (especially if I recognize the scent) and children. As a blind bat using echolocation I don't know.....Plus we need to stick together and scouting ahead may be dangerous. Furthermore, people on the ground are more likely to make the first encounter with them and we need a quorum to attack.
Darabrac, it is up to you but in the spirit of sticking together, I think you should ride on Lucius' back.

Let's go get 'em!

Left out last session

I meant to have everyone give a detailed description of their character on Sunday, but we didn't really have time. How about now?

Kaemris Tencoin cuts a dashing image in his embroidered blue travel cloak. His black hair is pulled back and his laughing green eyes flash glyptically. He is never without his luckstaff--a stout oak quarterstaff topped with the symbol of Tymora. He wears several platinum rings and a pair of well-worn lace-up boots.

Darabrac looks like a contradiction in terms to those not familiar with the ways of stongheart halflings. His dark hair is well groomed and tied back in a ponytail that hangs down to the base of his neck. His dark eyes seem to penetrate the shadows around him, ever vigilante. He is tall for a halfling, standing almost three and one quarter feet tall. Underneath his gray cloak, with its metallic black clasp in the shape of a halfling’s foot, is a dark gray sleeveless tunic, which is cut to show off his well-muscled arms. When it gets cold he wears a tight fitting red woolen shirt under the tunic. His loose fitting pants are black and dark gray ribbons hold it close to his calves preventing entanglement. From his belt hangs a strange sword without a sheath whose blade seems to be fashioned from obsidian. On his left middle finger is a simple silver band engraved with the symbol of the halfling goddess of harvest, Sheela Peryroyl. Over his shoulder is typically slung a dirty travel worn sack that seems to defy any attempt to clean it.

Recently he has been seen scurrying around with a scowl on his face holding a stiff piece of parchment and muttering under his breath about the weight to load ratio of cargo.
