Night on the Stonelands

Good thought ... but I think we should wait and get organized with a plan. It is the downfall of every band I've been with to run off into the darkness without foresight.

But perhaps Wisp might be able to track them in the meantime...

Mentally send a request to Wisp to follow those Orcs -- posthaste!

Lucius:

In response to your urgent emotions, you feel that Wisp is soaring after the fleeing orcs.

[Plus, I've looked back at the posts, and about 12 rounds have passed already...counting only those posts that have In-Character discussion about a plan...]

I believe there is no time to lose. These orcs may not have expected this caravan to put up such a fight (they lost many to gain just a few human children--doesn't seem very economical to me, but there's no reasoning with these creatures).

We must follow them now!

OOC: Probably true.. but not entirely fair. We'd have been right on their tail ... if the game session hadn't ended! Would Keith have talked about whistles for future attacks if we'd been playing? Probably not ....

Matt -- Do you think you can run our track through the woods on the boards? Obviously, we'd have to stop before any combat or drastic action is taken.

1. There are no woods. It's just barren, rocky badlands.

2. If we'd kept playing, someone (either Kaemris or Rolf) would have prevented all of you from running off into the dark w/o some provision for keeping the caravan safe. So no, I don't think saying that 72 seconds (12 rounds) have passed since the abduction is unfair. I mean, come on...72 seconds.

3. "Do you think you can run our track through the woods on the boards?"
Ask me on Sept. 14th.

Clarification: let me preface this with a :) so we're all aware of my friendly tone! Every time we've had one of these threads, and I tried to translate the "live" game into the message board setting, things are lost in the translation and you tell me I'm not being entirely fair. The game does not translate well into this form. We're not going to play the game here (we'd have to play without Lenet, for one thing). Discuss whatever you want; from this point on it'll be considered out-of-character. 12 Rounds will transpire btwn. last session and next session (I'm not the one who had to stop playing!) -MB

Artemus Thornwind Here

I like the collegial debate about the time that is taking place here. I don't mean to take sides but 72 seconds is reasonable. I have a question about the use of the boards and I would like permission to use an example to demonstrate my question. I was going to make the observation that since 12 rounds have gone by, the Orcs can only be around 240 feet away. Therefore, this time that has passed is not that much of an impediment to tracking them down over barren badlands with a large moon. Is this the type of comment that can take place without causing time to pass or is this a 'planning' comment?
Just curious.

Keith, you make "smarmy" fun again! :D

Discuss whatever you want. It's all out of character at this point and no time will be assessed against you!

"...since 12 rounds have gone by, the Orcs can only be around 240 feet away."

If they are running (which you imagine they probably are after the beating you put on their friends), they would be 1,440 feet away when you begin pursuing. Wisp is already looking for them, though...in fact, I assumed the helpful little owl was on their tail the moment we stopped.
