No end to polymorph self?

Since when does polymorph self not end when the PC goes back to his own form???

Yeah, I know...since 3E. Can't wait for the next version so they can make sure every spell is broken.

Tom, I agree with you on this... It's so stupid spell. Luckily my players haven't started using it, it would probably drive me mad as well.

This is not the case with the eratta'd version.

Personally I think they should have found a happy medium, i.e. choose a form upon casting the spell, you may switch between the specified form and your own for the duration of th spell, a more limited version of the pre eratta version.

Tom, just shell out the $3,001,552.99 or whatever it is to buy Tome and Blood already. That way you'll have an OFFICIAL version of the poly spells to wave at your players, one which doesn't allow multiple forms.

Tome and Blood? Nah, I've got certain things I'm going to check in the revised ed. before I buy it.

For example, if there is not a reasonable version of the polymorph spells, why bother?

What's with all the whining about 3E? Sure there are some issues, but overall I think it's better than 2nd Edition. For those issues that really bug the hell out of you, that's what Rule 0 is for. Oh wait, I forgot, you play with Lucius and thus Rule 0 doesn't exisit :D If you think that 2nd Edition (or another version) is better, no one will come and stop you if you decide to play that instead.

Seriously, if something bothers you so much that it sucks the enjoyment out of the game and you've looked at it from a balance point of view, for your campaign, then why not change it?

All the "whining" about 3E doesn't come from me, IceBear. I think it's a hell of a fun game, and generally a good system.

But I've played D&D through all three editions, and I am consistently astonished by the fact that they simply cannot fix anything without breaking something else.

This does not bode well for version 3.5.

Finally, Rule 0 is for suckers. ;)

I guess I've been in the software industry too long. I never expect a "perfect" product, and I DO expect something getting broken when something else gets fixed.

Rule 0 may be for suckers, but they tend to be happy suckers :)
