In the earlier stories, this is true. It was a reflection of the attempt to be similar in tone to the old Fliescher (sp?) Superman series from the 40s who couldn't fly and ran from bullets. However, as the series progressed, more and more of the late 80s and 90s aspect of The Batman character as being one of (if not the) best fighters in the world began to appear.Klaus said:About the Batman fighting power, let's not forget that the animated Batman is far from the über-martial artist he is in the comics. Even in TAS, Bats got punched and knocked by mere goons. It's just that he takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin', he has the staying power of George Foreman! Without the belly, tho.![]()
At any rate, I don't hate this newest series, but it possesses no where near the level of quality storytelling and concept as TAS... which, by the way, will have its third volume released in a couple weeks!
