Nocturne of Sorrow, Orsal J

(OOC: It was an udnerstandable mistake for the undead--attacking a flying horse just seems efficient if you don't know the spell, and if you do know the spell, then you'd know that the mounts have way way lower HP than anyone who could conjure them; no one would expect that the party had twinked-out mounts from a high level caster ;))

*Quozen barely misses the mount. Gloria attacks the undead again, and she misses.*

(OOC: Oh, right--Valan is still delaying, so I'll continue)

*The creature drains a bit more of Dorrin's essence. It waits until Dorrin struggles a bit more unsuccessfully, then splits off and spawns another kite from the stolen flesh.*

(OOC: Dorrin loses 3 more Charisma. The creature waits for him to fail his grapple check (which he will because it rolled too high on the d20 roll) and then detached to form a new kite.

There are now two kites with 16 damage on them each. Neither is attached to anyone though.

Quozen, Jace, Valan, and Gloria act)

Damnation! Is there no end to my mistakes!? Jace reloads and attempts a clear shot at a kite. shoot at kite (1d20+1=11, 1d10 =7)

If only each spawned critter gave more XP
OOC: Don't worry, these things gotta be like CR 3 or 4 or something. That's like 300 xp. There were 2 to start with, we should be ok. Adding an additional creature is roughly, what? +2 CR. So that means one CR 5 or 6 encounter? That's gotta be a whole new level right there. Even if they're worth more, you can't go up more than one level at a time.

Valan once again useless will call out to Gloria. If you lead his horse down here we can peel it off. If he gets the opportunity then he'll blow his last CLW on Dorrin.

OoC: Did Gloria ever respond to this possibility? Is it even possible with the spell?

(OOC: @Valan--No--the conjured mount recognises one rider ajnd one rider only. You can't even try to trade horses without it fizzling

@Jace--It is very true that 3.5 gives ridiculously high amounts of XP, but I believe you overestimate how much each of you will get after the split for 2 CR 3 or 4 critters 7 ways. Your CR approximation is dead-on, however.)

*Dorrin's blade strikes true, slashing deep into the necrotic flesh of the undead kite.*

(OOC: so KiteA has 20 Damage and KiteB has 16 after Dorrin goes, which should be right before the undead)

ooc: Eh, sometimes the dice fall the other way...
OOC: and if the dice had gone the other way, both the kites would be at 23 damage.

So . . . We're waiting for Quozen and Valan before Gloria and the undead go, right?
