D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

That is a challenge, absolutely. But it's helpful to remember that for the most part when folks make statements like this, it stems from ignorance or immaturity, not malice.
I want you to know that I mean absolutely no offense when I say this, but this is unbelievably naive. At the very least when we're talking about the internet, no, at least 90% of the time it is malice, it's just not usually not so obvious as it was here.
If you take it as a personal affront instead of looking at it through that lens, for sure the challenge level of responding in a measured way is upped.
Your problem is framing this as "[taking] it a personal affront" and not "recognizing it as an existential threat to my happiness, health, and safety", which is what I am actually talking about.
Bridging gaps doesn't happen through escalation.
Building bridges with people who mock me and wish I didn't exist only makes it easier for them to make that wish a reality. I mean... did you watch the Community clip I posted?

I watched Community religiously when it was on! :) The message in that clip pretty much embodies what I'm talking about. Seeing enemies that aren't there. I mean, there are real threats out there... rarely as many as one who feels threatened thinks there are though.

Looks like we will have to agree to disagree. I do understand where you are coming from and I always stand up for someone being attacked or bullied. I just ask that you try to understand what I'm saying without assuming that it is naivete.

It was a truly great show. Well... except for the gas leak year. We don't talk about the gas leak year.

I appreciate that you are coming from a good place. I just hope that you consider that I am speaking not of a place of imagined fear, but of experience, and leave it at that.

This, on the other hand, is not it. Not to say that straight calling a person a loser is a worthwhile endeavor, but it's especially difficult to "try to see people with whom you disagree as human beings" when the root of our disagreement comes from them not seeing me as a human being.

There are some people whom I would argue calling a loser and refusing to engage further is absolutely a worthwhile endeavor. But, of late it can be hard to tell those people from the ones who are worth the work of engaging with. And, none of this is really appropriate for the context of these forums anyway. Best just to report, block if you so choose, and move on with your day.

sorry. Tired of people getting away with this kind of stuff. Kind of has put us where we are in the world...
Mod Note:

Technically, commenting on moderation in thread is a violation of ENWorld’s rules. You’re a veteran poster here; you should know this. So I can’t simply ignore this.

But I’m reading your response as an apology of sorts, so I’m letting it go with just this note, because I’ve done likewise before I was asked to be a Mod.

Do better in the future

Unfortunately, this was very probably malice, an attempt to get folks riled up. The new starter set, Heroes of the Borderlands, has an NPC in a wheelchair, and that has inflamed some folks over in some corners of social media all over again.

But, the point remains, if someone's pretty clearly being a jerk, report it and don't interact - getting in their face gives them what they want.
