D&D 5E noob question: roll Xd and add it to your roll...

Bardic inspiration grants a die (6d, 8d, 10d or 12d) that can be rolled and added to the number rolled to an ability check, attack roll, or saving thow.

Are there other rules that allow an extra die to be used as in bardic inspiration?

The Bless and Guidance spells have a similar mechanic.
As does Battle Master's precision strike.
Hex, Hunter's Mark, and Giant Slayer add to damage rolls.
The Shield spell adds a flat amount to AC.

There's also an optional rule where you use a die in place of your proficiency bonus (instead of +2, it's +1d4).

There might be others.

Almost everything a battlemaster fighter does adds a superiority die to something, be it attack or damage.
