NorCal Game Day, Part Deux (planning)

Mistergone's got a good point. It doesn't all have to be fantasy. I wouldn't mind running a d20 Modern game, if we figure out a genre enough people are interested in. I'd dig GMing a military (GI Joe style) adventure, but would also be up for an X-Files sort of thing, and maybe other ideas I haven't thought of.

CoC is great. Last time I played, I was shot by a vampire and then killed by him with a thrown toilet. Great game.

So, at this point we're looking at the beginning of November, location undertermined (but possibly south of Sacramento), and some non-FRP games. Is that about it?

Loball.

I'd be willing to run a single round local HackMaster tournament at our next game day. Minimum two tables, nine players, to maintain sanction. I could run both tables staggered or they could run simultaneously with another GM.

Here's another vote for having this next one be a bit closer for us Bay Area folks. We had to leave early due to the long drive last time. :)

Also, I'd be more than willing to DM a game. It'd have to be d20, likely anything from D&D, d20 Modern, Spycraft, Mutants & Masterminds, or Arcana Unearthed. Not sure what yet. So, let me know if you need/want another DM.

Here's a slight hijack, since I have everyone here...

Is anyone in the Sacramento area looking to start a new group? My fiancee and I would like to get some regular gaming in. Meet probably 2-3 times a month, since we occassionally travel south to visit family. Saturdays would work best. We'd be happy to host it at our apartment in Midtown Sac, or we could play at Great Escape. Not sure who'd DM, we'll see who's interested.

Thanks, and we now return you to your regularly scheduled Game Day planning...

just so people are informed (this isn't a vote for it) but there is Scenario Game and Hobby Shoppe in Fremont. it has a fairly big game room. but i'd be willing to drive to sac again for the day. if anyone is interested, i would be willing to run some board games (don't know how popular they are with you guys). I could sit down and teach/play Risk 2210, cosmic encounter, settler's of catan with some people if they so choose. I also have some retro games if thou so wishes. Risk..from the 70's. Crossfire (that game from the early/mid 90's with the 2 guns and all the metal balls. you have to shoot targets into the other person's goal). I also have Kill Doctor Lucky and Starbase Jeff from Cheapass games. Pente, Kuba, and Mancalla also for those who like high thinking/strategy. Target for those card gamers (not CCG). And about 2,500 White Wolf RAGE cards (ccg). (yes, yes, i know. I bought the whole box of them from a garage sale for $20. I thought it was a good deal at the time), and a few other games i've forgotten about. I'd be willing to bring any or all to the next gameday, just to get some use out of them (most currently sit and collect dust). Maybe i could scratch together a prize of some sort for the winner of Risk 2210.
Can't wait for the next gameday!
