Hey, Jester! I hear Angelsboi's dragging you to our game on Sunday! I'm the DM, and diaglo is another one of our players. We're looking forward to having an "EN World Celebrity Guest Player" visit Sunday.
To whet your appetite and help get into character, you can choose from one of these four NPCs that are currently at the party's location:
1. Holgi (Hu Brd) is the effete third son of a wealthy Sembian logging magnate. Sickened by his son’s lack of desire to work for a living, the merchant threw Holgi out of his house. Holgi, raised on minstrel tales of adventuring, convinced three of his best friends to follow him to Mistledale, answering Oakfather Gannon Durei’s call for loyal followers of Silvanus to assist him in cleansing the woods of Cormanthor of some unspoken evil. Holgi and his friends have been assisting the Oakfather but as yet have done little “real” adventuring. Holgi is a bit naïve and immature, but his outgoing personality causes those around him to follow him.
2. An elven orphan, Avor (E Clr) met Holgi when Holgi’s father cleared the section of forest that Avor’s small elven village called home. Despite the circumstances, the two became close friends, probably because Holgi’s quick wit makes up for Avor’s slowness. Avor is a devout follower of Silvanus, who introduced Holgi and his other friends to the worship of the Oakfather. Avor firmly believes that all that is pure in life can be found in nature.
3. Laucivil (1/2E Rog) is the son of an Ordulin jewel merchant and his elven wife. He is secretly ashamed of his mixed parentage, and overcompensates by being brash, flashy, and outgoing. He considers himself to be worldly, sophisticated, and quite the ladies man. He is constantly primping, preening, and fussing over his jewelry and clothing. He followed Holgi to Mistledale out of boyhood loyalty and a desire to gain more wealth, but has so far been disappointed by the dirty drudgery of adventuring life, and is particularly put out that he is currently living up a tree like some common elf, rather than staying in the finest inn in Ashabenford.
4. Muammar (Hu Rgr) is who they meant when they coined the term “strong, silent type”. He was originally employed by Holgi’s father as a tracker and guide, but fell in with Holgi and was corrupted by the younger man’s “don’t worry, be happy” philosophy. Now Muammar’s strength and quiet scowl is often all that keeps Holgi, Avor, and Laucivil from getting into trouble. He feels much more at home at Oakengrove Abbey than he did in the more developed Sembia.
diaglo keeps our Story Hour
here. It isn't fine literature, but it's good fun. Hopefully he'll have it updated early next week so so everyone else can share in your adventure.
Have fun in Hotlanta; see you Sunday!
