[I posted this over at RPG.net, but I feel like posting it here as well, because I'm bored. ;)]

Morgan Ironwolf (the female fighter wearing chainmail spandex in, apparently, cold weather) from the Moldvay ed. Basic D&D Set.

:D

Omg, I actually remember that picture (I feel so old).

Also the old D&D cartoon, someone mentioned "the guy with the laser bow", iirc his name was Eric. (yep, that nails it I am old).

to add...

56. Your set of Orange basic dice were so old with worn edges, you could safely walk on a bed of D4s. Additionally, if you had enough bonuses, you said the 6 you rolled was actually a 6 and not a 9 (due to the missing dot that had worn off long ago).

Actually, his name is Hank, which is a contraction of... Henry. :)

Nope. His name was Hank. Eric was the dude that carried the magic shield (and whose voice was done by the same dude that did Ralph Malph on Happy Days...Hank's voice, btw, was Willie Ames [from Eight is Enough])

The rest of the D&D cast....Bobby (barbarian), Uni the Unicorn, Sheila (the chick with the cloak), Diana (the chick with the magic bo staff), Venger, Shadow Demon, Dungeon Master, Tiamat (sometimes).

Some more nostalgia:

Each class level had a name/level title that went with it. (Grandmaster of Flowers anyone? Grandfather of Assassins? Waghalter? Initiate??)

At "name level" you could build a stronghold and attract followers.

Yeah, you could be a "Hero" or "Superhero" even before Villains and Vigilantes! Great, wad'n't it? :D

"Make way for the high Lama and the Canon "
"Where? I don't see any stoned animals pulling a gun around!"

and it was really cool.

35) Everything wasn't so Politically Correct. Women and men of the same race could have different attribute maxes. Races had limits on what classes they could take and how many levels they could gain in them.

I remember that. And it played a huge reason why I didn't play for a long time. :] It was not fun playing with a bunch of boys who made your character weaker than they were and you were only along for their sexual remarks.

Sometimes nostalgia hides some rather unpleasant things.
