Ditto. The Defender and Wildlander are wonderful substitutions for the Monk and Ranger for a low magic/supernatural game.

I will grant you that True20 is more generic as it doesn't offer a campaign setting at all (you'd have to create your own Lich-King and Demon Gates, but I enjoy the creation process). The True20 Companion has rules for corruption in magic to facilitate dark sorcery. I also find that fixed Toughness makes the game more heroic as everything is more dangerous (I'm of a mind that heroics stems from facing great peril as opposed to overt power).Yair said:For me, this was pretty much my reaction to Blue Rose. And Iron Hereos. But not so much True20.
In comparison with Blue Rose, True20 is more generic. It lacks the rules for dark sorcery, and the wonderful temptations of using Conviction to power it. The fixed Toughness, not increasing with level, makes for a less heroic game. And of course it lacks the rich lich-king and demon-gates, and the "lawful evil" theocracy. Although it was branded as romantic fantasy, I could easily run it as a sword & sorcery campaign, IMO.
