Now if a certain company would just get off it's arse and release Thundercats on DVD...

I'm so tempted to buy the fan-made set... just concerned about the quality of a show that old on a fan set...

You europeans get a lot of shows on DVD earlier than we do, for some reason. I think it has to do with licensing issues, but I'm not sure.

I've actually considered buying a cheap R2 DVD player just to be able to get some stuff earlier from you guys.

Why wouldn't you just buy a multiregional DVD player? I mean,
do they even *sell* those non-multi ones anymore?

Or you could just 'crack' your DVD player.

My DVD player is a really really expensive Sony multidisk player... I don't feel like taking the chance of cracking it (Or voiding the 3 year warenty of which I still have two years left).

And most DVD players bought in the store over here are region-locked... I think non region locked ones are technicly illegal or something. Not sure on that though. I know you won't find any in walmart or best buy (That I have seen anyhow).

Region free DVDs are certainly legal so don't feel that you're doing something naughty just because you might happen to own one or two. The big studios like using the region codes, mainly to keep one country's customers from importing DVDs from another. Japan is especially keen on importing foreign DVDs, from what I hear.

I've been told that the Apex brand, which is often found at Wal-Mart, doesn't have the regional encoding. I haven't seen it for myself, though.
